On March 1, 2019 Richard D. Keirn a member of Chapter 730 Military Order of the Purple Heart received the Nevada Governor’s Volunteer Recognition Certificate Award for his volunteer service to veterans to include 937 Claims and 3,793 hours for the year 2018. The award ceremony was held at the Henderson Heritage Senior Center in Henderson Nevada.
The Governors Volunteer Recognition Certificate along with a pin was presented by Henderson City Councilwomen Gerri Schroder on behalf of Governor Steve Sisolak. Richard also received a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Senator Jacky Rosen and Congresswomen Susie Lee.
Richard works out of the MOPH Chapter 730 Office in the Henderson VET Center Monday thru Fridays and is also in charge of the Chapter Officer at the Las Vegas VET Center and the satellite office on Water Street in Henderson. As the Chapter Service Officer, he has 8 Advocates working with him. He is a Certified Nevada Veterans Advocate and as a Certification from the Department of Veterans Affairs in the Training,
Responsibility, Involvement, and Preparation of Claims. He started working as a Service Officer in 2015.
