On July 21, 2018 the Elks Lodge #1468 held their Annual Christmas in July for Veterans at their lodge at 4100 W Charleston. Steve Smith President of Fleet Reserve Association, and committee Chairman for the Elks Lodge said how proud he is to put this together for the Veterans from Veterans Village and the US Vets. They served over 100 Veterans a steak lunch and had the presentation of the flags of the different branches of the service.
The Emblem Club presented the flags. As the flags were presented the Song for that branch of the service was sang and Lila Millar told the story of the origin of that branches flag.
Elks Exalted Ruler J.J. Lynch stated that the Elks have been doing this for the veterans for over 30 years and they bring them together to give them a good meal and a few clothing items in appreciation of their service.
